We specifically chose brass for this piece to keep this cuff lightweight and comfortable on the ear. The plating on these pieces are at 3.0 micron which is MUCH thicker then the average plated jewelry out on the market. Most sellers will plate their pieces at 0.5-1.0 micron. Even the popular vermeil (heavy gold plated silver) is legally required to use at least 10k+ Gold and 2.5+ micron to be called vermeil. Not only is our piece heavily plated at 3.0 micron but uses nothing under 18k Gold plating. This makes our cuffs perfect for those who are sensitive to metals and provides a long lasting forever piece.
